Businessman Oleg Tinkov said that he had renounced Russian citizenship. The founder of Tinkoff Bank posted a photo of the certificate of termination of citizenship on Instagram.
“I have officially renounced Russian citizenship! I can't see all this and be associated with Putin's fascism! I cannot see how my former compatriots kill and rob peaceful people just like that. I want to ‘unsee’ it all, especially after what I had to go through the last 3 years, ”wrote Tinkov.
The entrepreneur also urged other Russian businessmen to follow his example — «quit their businesses and citizenship» to stop working for «fascism». Tinkov completed his post with the words “I am a patriot of Russia more than you .. since you are talking, but I did and do. I am a hero of Russia.. real.. not these…”

In March, the UK imposed sanctions against Tinkov, but lifted some of the bans a day later. Then he was one of the few Russian businessmen who opposed the invasion of Ukraine. After the words of the entrepreneur about the Russian «shit-army» Tinkoff Bank decided to change its name. In April, Vladimir Potanin's Interros company bought out the share of Oleg Tinkov's family in Tinkoff Bank.
