MOSCOW, November 3 Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin discussed with Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Greenspan on the implementation of the Russian part of the product deal, the parties agreed on further contacts, the Russian Foreign Ministry said following a telephone conversation.
«During the conversation, the main issues related to the implementation of the Memorandum on mutual understanding between Russia and the UN Secretariat on promoting the promotion of Russian food products and fertilizers to world markets. The need was stressed for the UN to fulfill its obligations under the Memorandum,» the Foreign Ministry said.
«Further contacts were agreed to coordinate efforts in the interests of ensure global food security,» the diplomatic mission stressed.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow's return to the grain deal does not mean its automatic renewal after November 18th. One of the main concerns of the Russian side is related to the fact that the second part of the package agreement is not being implemented: unlike the unblocking of Ukrainian exports, the situation with the export of Russian grain and fertilizers remains unsettled.
