MOSCOW, Nov. 10 Nationalized company “Ukrnafta” after the appeal to the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine called on Volodymyr Zelensky to intervene in the situation around the blocking by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine of the work of the enterprise.
Ukrnafta on the eve called on the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov to intervene in the situation around the blocking of the work of the company by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and representatives of the Bureau of Economic Security. Earlier, Ukrnafta reported that the work of the enterprise's central office had been blocked by armed people since Tuesday evening, and there was no court decision authorizing forceful actions. On Wednesday, the SBU announced that they were taking preventive measures to prevent the destabilization of the work of one of the largest oil refineries in Ukraine and ensure its transfer to state ownership in working condition.
“We ask the President of Ukraine to intervene in the situation, stop the lawlessness that is happening in the rear during the war,” Ukrnafta said in a statement posted on social networks. The company noted that employees of the Bureau of Economic Security and the Security Service of Ukraine have been blocking the activities of Ukrnafta for the third day without presenting a court decision to conduct a search.
“For the third day, armed persons have been in the office of PJSC Ukrnafta, they do not allow employees to enter the workplace, they block all operational activities of the company, they impede the performance of normal operational processes for extraction and processing. For the third day, all bank accounts of PJSC Ukrnafta were blocked, the company's activities are actually stopped,” Ukrnafta said. The company also added that the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Energy are ignoring the appeals of the 20,000-strong team of Ukrnafta.
On Monday, the Ukrainian publication Economic Pravda reported that the country's authorities decided to nationalize a number of enterprises owned by Ukrainian oligarchs, including Ukrnafta, the shares will become state property. Later, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that the nationalized assets of enterprises received the status of military property and were transferred to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. According to the SBU, later the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market made a decision on the forced alienation of state shares, the issuer of which is PJSC Ukrnafta.
