BRUSSELS, Nov 15 EU High Representative for Security Josep Borrell said that the EU's common defense and security policy should be strengthened, including joint arms purchases.
The meeting of EU defense ministers is taking place in Brussels on Tuesday.
«We are in a situation where the European security landscape is changing, we are facing challenges, the entire continent is suffering from the consequences of the war in Ukraine. We must strengthen our common defense and security policy,» Borrell said before the meeting.
According to him, the ministers intend to assess the capabilities of European armies , to talk about the needs and more effective cooperation to strengthen the overall defense efforts, restore stockpiles of weapons, including common purchases.
