A criminal case was initiated after a denunciation by local activist Timur Bulatov and was considered in a special order. The Kurds admitted their guilt.

According to the prosecution, a 17-year-old boy, together with a 15-year-old friend, “acting out of hooligan motives” and trying to “offend” the feelings of believers, were photographed against the backdrop of the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood in St. Petersburg. At the same time, the convict showed his naked buttocks, and his friend, who was not accused in the case, lowered his pants in front. The press service of the courts of St. Petersburg writes that the photo was taken from July 1 to November 19 last year.

In March, in a similar case of «insulting» the feelings of believers for a photo with a lifted skirt near St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg, the court appointed model Irina Volkova 180 hours of compulsory work. The denunciation of the girl was also written by Bulatov.
