BELGRADE, Feb. 2 Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina try to present themselves the Balkan version of Vladimir Zelensky and the victim, and Serbia — the aggressor, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
At 10.00 (12.00 Moscow time) on Thursday, a special meeting of the Assembly (parliament) began, whose only item is the consideration of the report «On the negotiation process with the provisional structures in Pristina from September 1 to January 15, 2022.» The head of state is the first to speak to the deputies, who listed all the unilateral steps and provocations of the Kosovo Albanian authorities in recent months, which led to aggravation and barricades in the north of the region.
“Since they are not going to create a Community of Serbian Communities, they want to cause an armed conflict. To push Serbia against NATO and the whole world, to present themselves as a victim, as some kind of Balkan Zelensky, and us as an aggressor who endangered — look at this hypocrisy — territorial integrity of the «sovereign and independent state of Kosovo,» Vučić told parliamentarians
Representatives of the Serbian List party, Kosovo Serbs who suffered in recent incidents, representatives of the association of relatives of the abducted, missing and killed in Kosovo and Metohija are present as guests at the meeting, the deputies greeted them with applause.
According to the Serbian authorities, over the past 4.5 months, 68 ethnically motivated attacks have been recorded in Kosovo and Metohija, which represents 25% of all incidents since Prime Minister Albin Kurti came to power in March 2020. The government report details the incidents and unilateral steps taken by the Kosovo Albanian authorities, which caused several aggravations in the north of the province in the fall, as well as shooting incidents in January. It is noted that Belgrade will not back down from the demand for the urgent need to form a Community of Serbian Communities with fundamentally prescribed powers.
In 1999, an armed confrontation between Albanian separatists from the «Kosovo Liberation Army», the army and the police of Serbia led to the bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY), at that time consisting of Serbia and Montenegro, by NATO forces. The military operation was undertaken without the approval of the UN Security Council and based on the assertion of Western countries that the authorities of the FRY carried out ethnic cleansing in the Kosovo autonomy and provoked a humanitarian catastrophe there. Air strikes by the North Atlantic Alliance lasted from March 24 to June 10, 1999 and led to the death of more than 2.5 thousand people, including 87 children, and damage of 100 billion dollars.
Kosovo-Albanian structures in Pristina February 17, 2008 unilaterally declared independence from Serbia. The self-proclaimed republic is not recognized by Serbia, Russia, China, Iran, Spain, Greece and a number of other states.
