A resident of Kasimov, Ryazan Region, Vasily Bolshakov, was charged with “discrediting” the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) for a joke about the retreat from Kherson, published on VKontakte. Andrey Kuryatnikov, a lawyer from OVD-Info, told about this.
On November 9, a man posted on his social network page an anecdote with a fictitious conversation between President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu:
— Sergey, why are we retreating from Kherson?
Volodya, you yourself ordered the liberation of Ukraine from fascists and Nazis…
According to OVD-Info, on February 14, Bolshakov's house was searched. His wife told human rights activists that the security forces beat the man and handcuffed him. In the summer, a Kasimovian was fined 30,000 rubles under an administrative protocol on “discrediting” the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
