«Vot Tak» and Baza: a criminal case was opened against a Muscovite about military «fakes» for participating in a street poll by Radio Liberty

A criminal case was opened against a 37-year-old Muscovite on military «fakes» (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) for participating in a street poll by Radio Liberty. This publication «Vot Tak» said a source in law enforcement.

In July, Radio Liberty published on its Telegram channel a video of a survey of passers-by on the streets of Moscow. The names of the respondents were not indicated in the video. Journalists were interested in whether relations between Russia and NATO needed detente. The man who was charged with a criminal case said that the normalization of relations depends on the actions of the Russian government.

“Our government said that it wanted to fight the nationalists, but bombed shopping centers, in Bucha — civilians. <…> And people start hating the whole thing. <…> We have one person who can stop [the war],” he said.

According to investigators, the man gave “deliberately false information” about the actions of the Russian army in Bucha.

The Telegram channel Baza, without specifying the source, reports the name of a Muscovite — Yuri Kokhovets. In a conversation with Vot Tak, he said that law enforcement agencies had not yet contacted him, and he himself “does not worry” about what is happening and is not looking for a lawyer.
