Bankrupt alcohol producers will be able to sell leftovers for debts

MOSCOW, April 4 The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proposes to allow producers of ethyl alcohol and alcohol in case of bankruptcy to sell the rest of their products to pay off debt, follows from the materials on the website of the department.
«The Ministry of Finance of Russia has prepared amendments to federal law No. 171-FZ, which will allow organizations whose licenses have been canceled or terminated, in the event of initiation of bankruptcy proceedings or the licensee is declared insolvent, the sale of existing residues of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products, and the proceeds will be used to pay off debts to the state and other creditors,» the ministry said.

«When such organizations are granted the right to sell the remaining balances of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products, funds can be obtained, which, in turn, can be used to pay off the debt,» the words of the deputy director of the department of customs policy and regulation of the alcohol market are quoted in the materials. In addition, the Ministry proposes to allow producers of ethyl alcohol, within two months from the date of cancellation or termination of the license, to supply product residues to another organization that has a license for the production, storage and supply of alcoholic and alcohol-containing food or non-food products.
«Today, the ethyl alcohol remaining after two months acquires the status of being in illegal circulation and is subject to destruction,» the department notes.
