BELGOROD, 24 Apr. Two residents of the Belgorod region have been charged with trying to sell Kalashnikov assault rifles bought from the Russian military and ammunition for them, reports the regional FSB.
«The activity of two residents of the Rakityansky district was suppressed … Two Kalashnikov assault rifles AK-74M were found and confiscated, as well as cartridges of caliber 5.45×39 in the amount of 387 pieces. The seized is suitable for its intended use. The suspects intended to sell the assault rifles,» — said in a release from the department.
It is specified that a criminal case has been initiated against them under Part 2 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale of weapons), the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
According to the press service of the FSB, the men who, according to the preliminary data of the investigation, purchased weapons from servicemen in the border areas are under house arrest.
