A court in Moscow fined RusNews journalist Yulia Petrova 150,000 rubles, who was detained while filming a report about the June 4 action

The Timiryazevsky District Court of Moscow fined RusNews freelance journalist Yulia Petrova 150,000 rubles under a protocol on repeated violation of the rally rules (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This is reported by the publication itself.

Petrova was detained the day before on Pushkin Square in Moscow while filming a report about the action on the birthday of Alexei Navalny. The reason for the detention was that she picked up one of the leaflets that had been previously scattered by activist Mikhail Shchepotkin on the square.

Later, the journalist was taken to the police department in the West Degunino district, where a protocol was drawn up. According to RusNews, a lawyer was not allowed to see her there. According to the security officials, by holding up the leaflet, Petrova took part in the action — they also claimed that the leaflets belonged to the journalist.

According to OVD-Info, at the actions on the birthday of Alexei Navalny, June 4, in various the ends of Russia, the security forces detained 113 people. At least 29 activists from Moscow were left overnight at police stations.
