ORENBURG, June 23 It is impossible to completely get rid of state control of business, but the vector must be shifted towards the prevention of violations, says Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.
«I think everyone has heard the position of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on this matter, that there should be no inspections (of business), with the exception of those facilities where there is a high risk of injury to people or possible harm to the environment. I think that this is absolutely right. But it is impossible to completely abandon state control,» Krasnov said during a meeting with representatives of the business community of the Orenburg region. According to the Prosecutor General, it would be more correct «to shift the vector to the prevention of violations.»
Earlier at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Krasnov said that business inspections should remain minimal, despite discussions about lifting the moratorium on their conduct, and also said that a draft departmental order had been developed on «proactive» supervision of prosecutors in defense of business rights, to prevent violations, and not just respond to those already committed.
