MOSCOW, June 24 Moscow is surprised by the position of the UN on the implementation of the memorandum on the export of Russian agricultural products, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
The agency noted that as the expiration date of the «Black Sea Initiative» for the export of Ukrainian food is approaching, UN representatives are marked by a series of public declarations, advocate for the extension and even expansion of the agreement, and report on their tireless efforts under the Russia-UN Memorandum to normalize domestic agricultural exports.
It noted that absolutely nothing has been done under the Russia-UN memorandum.
“Three of the five “systemic” tasks envisaged by the Memorandum – the connection of Rosselkhozbank to SWIFT, the supply of spare parts and the resuscitation of the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline – have actually been removed from the agenda. For the remaining two – normalization of transport logistics and insurance, unblocking of banking assets — no progress is visible,» the ministry said.
«All the more surprising against this background are the attempts of the UN to mislead the world community with their optimistic statements about tireless efforts, which, however, even after a year did not yield any results «, — it added.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also called inappropriate the expression by UN Secretary General António Guterres of disappointment over the reduction in the export of Ukrainian food as part of the «Black Sea Initiative».
«It is noteworthy when At the same time, the blowing up of the ammonia pipeline on June 5, the resumption of which is provided for by both Istanbul agreements, as well as by a separate proposal of Guterres himself, was left without reaction,» the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
