In the Leningrad region, anti-war inscriptions were painted over on the facade of the store, the owner of which is accused of «discrediting» the army

In the village of Russko-Vysotskoye, Leningrad Region, the facade of a store with anti-war inscriptions was painted over. Dozhd writes about this.

The store belongs to Dmitry Skurikhin, a defendant in the case of “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code), businessman. The man said that on the night of June 24-25, eight people came to his store. Five of them painted over the inscriptions on the facade, the rest filmed what was happening on camera — the entrepreneur himself believes that they were policemen, they carefully hid their faces.

Skurikhin had previously repeatedly placed political slogans on the facade of his store — in particular the man spoke out in support of politician Alexei Navalny, and after the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he wrote on the building “Peace to Ukraine, freedom to Russia”, later adding the names of Ukrainian cities affected by the war.

In May 2022, Skurikhin was fined under the administrative article on “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a video in his Telegram channel. In September, he was searched under a similar criminal article. «Network Freedoms» wrote that the reason for the persecution was an anti-war post in a telegram and photos of anti-war inscriptions on his store.

Then the court imposed a ban on certain actions as a preventive measure for the activist. After Skurikhin, on the anniversary of the Russian invasion, February 24, 2023, was photographed against the backdrop of a store with a poster «Forgive me, Ukraine», he was sent to a pre-trial detention center. In April, the measure of restraint was mitigated by placing the man under house arrest. came out with a poster «Forgive Ukraine»https://t.co/YywTbF3x6o
