The International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS), which was supposed to be held for the 16th time at the end of July, will be postponed to 2024. This was reported on the website of the event.
MAKS, which shows the latest Russian and foreign aircraft, has been regularly held every two years in Zhukovsky, near Moscow, since 1993. It is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Rostec.
“Instead of 2023, [MAKS] is scheduled for 2024, and MAKS will also take place in 2025,” the organizers said, without mentioning the reasons for the decision.
Sources from Kommersant and Vedomosti, who in May talked about the possible postponement of the event, explained this by the inability to provide security measures for the flight program and sanctions that make «the participation of foreign companies in the air show limited.»
