The Vladivostok garrison military court sentenced Andrey K., an air traffic controller from the Magadan region, to two years and ten months in a colony-settlement. This is reported by the project «Military Advocates».
The man was found guilty of failure to comply with an order in an armed conflict (Part 2.1 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code). Judging by the information on the court’s website, his name is Andrey Kapatsyna — on June 29, a court in Vladivostok sentenced the man.
According to Military Lawyers, in September 2022, shortly after the announcement of mobilization, the defendant was called up for military service . The authorities decided to send the man to war in Ukraine, but he twice refused to obey the order and leave for the war zone, citing his religious views.
After that, a criminal case was opened against the air traffic controller. At one of the meetings, he said that he could not take up arms and use them against other people because of his religious beliefs.
