S. PETERSBURG, July 1, Dmitry Edigarev. Neftchi goalkeeper Agil Mammadov, who was injured in a match with Zenit St. Petersburg, was hospitalized, Romanian head coach of the Azerbaijani club Laurentiu Regekampf said.
The meeting was held in St. Petersburg on Saturday as part of an international tournament. In stoppage time of the second half, Mammadov collided with the Blue-White-Blues midfielder Vladislav Saus. At first, the goalkeeper was assisted on the field, later the player was urgently carried away on a stretcher.
“Mamedov has already regained consciousness, he is in the hospital, he will undergo a CT scan. The doctors said that at first glance, there is nothing serious,” Regekampf told reporters.
The match ended with the victory of «Zenith» with a score of 3:1.
