St. Petersburg, July 1 Two people were hospitalized in serious condition with head injuries after an accident with a tourist bus in Karelia, eight people were sent for outpatient treatment, according to the Republican Ministry of Health.
A tourist bus got into an accident on Saturday afternoon in the Lahdenpohsky district of Karelia. It was reported that a Neoplan bus with a 47-year-old driver drove into a ditch and overturned. As of 17:00, eight victims were hospitalized. The Investigative Committee on the fact of the accident began a pre-investigation check. According to preliminary data, the driver lost control of the turn.
«There were 40 people in the bus at the time of the accident. Ten victims were taken to the Sortavala Central District Hospital. According to the results of the examination, two were hospitalized in serious condition with head injuries. All are receiving the necessary medical care. Nothing threatens their lives. Eight people have been sent for outpatient treatment,» the Karelia Ministry of Health informs on its page on the VKontakte social network.
It is noted that there are no children among the victims.
