Khostinsky District Court of Sochi sentenced two teachers of the private center «Teremok» Ekaterina Kulisevich and Liya Badirova to three years and two months in prison in the case of torturing children with autism. This was reported by the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory.
The defendants were found guilty of torturing minors (paragraphs «a», «d», «e» of part 2 of article 117 of the Criminal Code) and improper performance of duties for their upbringing (Article 156 of the Criminal Code). Separately, Badirova was also convicted under the article on the provision of services that do not meet consumer health safety requirements (Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code). Women were forbidden to work with children, they were taken into custody in the courtroom.
According to the investigation, from July 2020 to February 2021, the defendants worked as educators in the Teremok leisure center and systematically mocked the children who were there with autism. In particular, they beat children, dragged them by the hair, kicked them, and also insulted and cursed minors.
Later, the parents found bruises on the children and filed a complaint with the police. After the scandal, the teachers left the institution, and Badirova opened a new children's center, Empire of Childhood, at the same address. The Telegram channel Mash reported that Kulisevich took the position of administrator in the new center. Soon, traces of beatings were also found on the pupils of the «Empire of Childhood» — as a result of which a criminal case was initiated.
As Kavkaz.Realii noted, in April 2022, the Teremok leisure center was closed at the request of the prosecutor's office — during the check it turned out that he was registered in non-residential premises without evacuation exits and with unsanitary conditions. In October, the prosecutor's office also closed the Empire of Childhood.
