The Investigative Committee for the Ivanovo region began an investigation due to a complaint from a local resident who told the media that the coach of the Patriot martial arts club beat her 10-year-old son with a stick.
“Currently, investigators are establishing all the circumstances , set out in the publication, a legal assessment will be given to compliance with the law in the field of services provided to minors, ”the press release of the security forces says.
According to a resident of Ivanovo, the Rise newspaper said after training at the Patriot martial arts club her 10-year-old son returned home covered in bruises. Later, the woman found out that coach Sergei Lukyanov had beaten her child with a stick. The man explained that he did this because “he no longer knows how to talk to him [the child], because the boy is “lazy and a deceiver.”
“Terrible beatings with a wooden stick. Today we went, filmed beatings, just all the soft spot is burgundy, and the hips too. The coach confirmed in SMS correspondence that he did it. It's not the first time. But to be so, it's overkill. Now we need to go to the hall, but I can’t calm the child, he roars sobbing. It is necessary that he show in the place where the stick was, how he struck, ”added the woman.
According to the publication Podyom, Lukyanov was summoned for interrogation to the Investigative Committee. The club declined to comment on the coach's actions. According to the Patriot website, Lukyanov is a combat veteran, during the Soviet era he served in the Soviet army, and from 1992 to 2008 he was an operative in the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
