In Rostov-on-Don, two Ukrainians were sentenced to 23 and 24 years in prison in the case of an attempt on the life of the Russian-appointed deputy head of the Kherson region

The Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don has sentenced citizens of Ukraine Yuriy Domanchuk and Vitaliy Skakun in the case of an attempt on the life of the Russian-appointed First Vice Governor of the Kherson Region Vitaliy Bulyuk, a TASS correspondent reported from the courtroom.

Judge Roman Plisko sentenced Skakun to 24 years in prison, and Domanchuk to 23 years in prison. During the debate, the prosecutor asked the court to sentence both citizens of Ukraine to life imprisonment.

TASS does not specify under what specific articles Domanchuk and Skakun were found guilty. According to the file of the case, in Rostov-on-Don they were tried on the case of committing a terrorist attack, illegal trafficking in firearms and explosives (point «b» of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code, part 4 of article 222 of the Criminal Code and part 4 of article 222.1 of the Criminal Code).< /p>

In December last year, in the occupied Skadovsk, Kherson region, the car of Vitaly Bulyuk exploded, his driver died on the spot, and the Russian-appointed vice-governor received shrapnel wounds. According to the Russian security officials, Skakun and Domanchuk purchased an anti-personnel fragmentation mine and Makarov pistols in Skadovsk.

A Russian-appointed representative of the emergency services of the Kherson region claimed that the «operation», which had been preparing for several months, was led by Lieutenant Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine Pavlo Savitsky. The case against him, TASS notes, was separated into a separate proceeding, but his «location has not been established.»
