MOSCOW, 5 Jul. Specialists of the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO) are restoring a monument to the artist Arkhip Kuindzhi, who suffered during the battles for Mariupol, by the end of summer it will be re-installed in the city, said Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the President of the Russian Federation, head of the RVIO.
«In the battles for Mariupol, a Ukrainian tank hiding in residential areas fired at a monument to the artist Kuindzhi, a native of the city. According to him, experts restored the monument «piece by piece» in the same way as the shot bas-reliefs to Soviet soldiers at Saur-Mogila.
