MOSCOW, 6 Jul Natalia Vodianova opened the Jean Paul Gaultier show at Paris Fashion Week, writes Grazia.
The Russian model demonstrated a black trouser suit with gold embroidery.
The author of the collection is Julien Dossena. Previously, he was the creative director of Paco Rabanne. He became a guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier in March 2023.
“Dossena presented a collection filled with references that indicate admiration (for the brand’s creativity – Note ed.),” according to Grazia.
He relied on the archives of the Jean-Paul Gaultier fashion house. Some of the highlights in the brand's history are captured in his looks. At the same time, Dossena did not copy the legendary outfits.
So, Grazia noted huge faux fur hats. They are inspired by the hats from the Gaultier Fall 2019 haute couture show. Dossena reimagined the dragon embroidered corset from the first Gaultier show. The designer also came up with a layered bustier with a tie, a nod to Jean Paul Gaultier's farewell show in 2020.
In May, the Met Gala Costume Institute took place. Among the guests of the high-profile event in the fashion world was Irina Shayk. The model attended the evening in a white dress and ballet flats.
