Earlier, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia informed that as a result of heavy rains in Sochi Khosta, almost 10 cars were carried away by a stream of water, the floors of two residential buildings along Kiparisovaya and Shosseynaya streets were flooded. At the same time, there were no dead or injured, the evacuation of the houses was not carried out. Later, the city administration reported that 80 millimeters of rain fell in the Khostinsky district overnight, showers flooded the house at Kiparisovaya 9/1, ten of its residents will be relocated to a temporary accommodation facility.
As the correspondent of the agency reports, on Sunday afternoon, residents of flooded houses and those whose cars were blown into a cliff during a downpour gathered on Vidny Ruchey Street in the Khostinsky district. The water in this area has not receded, cars have not been evacuated, people go to the store on foot, it is impossible to drive along the only road leading to the city.
“We don’t know anything, nothing at all, special equipment doesn’t work, no one. It turns out that we have the only road to the complex (housing — ed.), And we are blocked. If someone gets sick and needs an ambulance, don’t go, and there is no one, no special equipment… we are waiting for special equipment,” Olga Petrova, the chairman of one of the apartment buildings, where several owners of damaged cars live, told reporters.
Petrova clarified that some of the owners of transport carried away by a downpour are tourists, others are local residents.

According to Dmitry Pelikh, a tourist from the Krasnodar Territory, they arrived in Sochi much earlier, today their train will go home — to the Timashevsky district, but they are not sure that they can call a taxi to the right address, since there is no way.

According to the owners of the cars that fell into the cliff, while no one has evacuated the cars, people are waiting for help and deciding what to do with the transport next. A resident of Rostov-on-Don, who came to Sochi on vacation with his family, told the agency that his car was blown about 50 meters from a height. At 4 in the morning, his wife heard the screams of neighbors, then the car was carried by a stream of water into a cliff. Tourists will go back by train rather, and the car will be more likely to be handed over for recycling — the damage is too severe.
According to the Sochi authorities, after the rains, 60 people were involved in the elimination of the consequences of bad weather, 15 units of equipment were involved, monitoring services are working on the spot, they are assessing the damage to property. According to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, in general, the situation in Sochi is stable against the backdrop of the rains that have passed in the city.

Storm warning is valid in Sochi until the end of the day on July 10th. Weather forecasters during this period predict showers, wind, hail, rivers overflowing their banks, the formation of tornadoes over the sea in the Magri-Veseloye area. According to local authorities, the main impact of the elements is expected on Monday night.
