Rusagrotrans commented on the increase in export prices for wheat

MOSCOW, July 21 x analytical center «Rusagrotrans».
«Prices for wheat from the Russian Federation for export increased significantly over the week, which was facilitated by the news about Russia's withdrawal from the «grain deal,» the report says (cited by the Pole.rf magazine, which, like Rusagrotrans, is part of Demetra Holding).

Experts believe that against this background, the export of wheat in the Russian Federation in July may break a historical record. «The forecast for wheat exports in July 2023 (including the EAEU countries) is 4.1-4.2 million tons (the previous record was in July 2018 — 4 million tons),» the report says.

Thus, export prices of 4th grade wheat (12.5% protein) for delivery in August increased by $12.5 over the week to $240 per ton FOB and more.
The price for American wheat has strengthened to $257 per ton (plus $12), for French — up to $268 per ton (plus $19).
«The exchange market for wheat has sharply strengthened after Russia's withdrawal from the» grain deal «, news about the damage to grain terminals in the ports of Odessa and Chernomorsk, as well as against the backdrop of the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense that from July 20, all ships moving in the Black Sea to Ukrainian ports will be considered as potential carriers of military cargo,» experts explain.
Prices for wheat within the Russian Federation also increased markedly: for example, in deep water ports they increased to 16,500 rubles per ton without VAT (plus 400 rubles per ton compared to the previous week), at low water they remained unchanged — 14,500 rubles per ton. In turn, wheat prices in the South reached 14,500 — 15,100 rubles per ton, adding 700 rubles. But in other regions, market activity was low, and prices did not change.
