SIMFEROPOL, July 30 The Ukrainian side ignores participation in the upcoming court session on the water blockade of Crimea, said the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov.
Earlier it was reported that the Arbitration Court of Crimea registered the first lawsuit on damage to the budget of the republic from the water blockade of the peninsula with the amount of claims against Kyiv for more than 152 billion rubles. At the same time, if private organizations and individual entrepreneurs who suffered from the blockade join the lawsuit, the damage could exceed a trillion rubles. The first court hearing in the case will take place on July 31.
“As far as I know, the Ukrainian side intends to ignore this process. But, I think, sooner or later, we will wait for representatives of Ukraine at meetings of this kind. Yes, they will have to be brought there under escort, but this is the current reality,” he said. Konstantinov.
According to him, the presence of the defendant is not necessary to consider a claim for damage caused to Crimea by a water blockade organized by Ukraine.
«The main thing is to get a court decision that would allow us, relying on a legal document, to collect from him what is due to us. Will it be reparations from the territory of the former Ukraine or payments of some kind of state formation, successive the current fake «power» is also not so important. Justice must prevail in any case,» the source said.
