According to the Acting Governor, the shelling took place about seven hours evenings. According to preliminary data, three civilians were killed. Another 15 people were injured and were hospitalized.
In addition, a 12-year-old child was found under the rubble, and rescuers are working at the scene. Balitsky assured that all the victims would receive maximum assistance and support.
Zaporozhye region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum held in September 2022. Kyiv does not recognize its results and continues to shell the territory.
Today, Russia controls more than 70 percent of the Zaporozhye region, Ukrainian troops hold the former regional center of the region — the city of Zaporozhye.
