Develop a federal law that will regulate the operation of marketplaces, the experts of the Russian Public Initiative proposed. This will not allow unscrupulous founders to arbitrarily change the rules of cooperation, protect employees from inadequate fines, and protect buyers from problems with defective goods.
As MK found out, people's experts came up with a petition to create a federal law “On regulating the operation of marketplaces”. According to public figures, marketplaces have taken a dominant position in the market by luring buyers with unique conditions that go against any economic logic. This includes free shipping even for cheap goods, the possibility of trying on things with a full return, unprecedented low prices. However, absolutely all participants in the chain pay for such “conveniences”, while marketplaces “skim the cream”. So, suppliers of goods are forced to give marketplaces a huge share of revenue, which today reaches 50% of the price of goods. Sellers are placed in such conditions that, in addition to a low commission, they must pay for logistics and heavy fines. Experts say that the trend of recent years has become the practical impossibility of selling goods without paying for advertising, and the cost of it can reach 30% of the price of the goods in the window. Moreover, there are examples when, as a result of fines, suppliers also owe money to marketplaces.
Initiative citizens considered that the activities of marketplaces should be supervised by antimonopoly authorities. And the opportunities to continuously worsen conditions for partners should be significantly limited. To bring the idea to life, it is proposed to convene a working group, which will include representatives of suppliers, points of issue of orders, employees of warehouses and logistics companies. This is necessary to determine the entire list of problems.
Based on the difficulties and claims voiced, a federal law can be developed that would put the activities of marketplaces within a specific framework. As a result, the level of income will be redistributed among all partners, and buyers will be able to receive better products and better customer service.
