MOSCOW, August 3 The Russian government proposes to introduce a mechanism of customs preferences for friendly countries, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
» In order to stimulate the growth of deliveries of grain, fertilizers, and raw materials to friendly countries, the government proposes to introduce a special flexible instrument of tariff preferences: the possibility of reducing export duties for up to 6 months and the establishment of temporary (no more than one year), reduced or zero customs rates for the export of products within a certain volume,» he said at a government meeting.
Mishustin noted that this measure will provide support to Russian entities subject to the regime of external restrictions, as well as to those regions where a change in logistics routes led to an increase in transport costs and a rise in the cost of export deliveries of local enterprises.
«In order to launch this mechanism, it will be necessary to give the government additional powers. Corresponding amendments to the federal law on customs tariffs have been prepared. Today we will send the entire package of documents to the State Duma for consideration,» Mishustin added.
