
MOSCOW, Aug 2 Real wages in Russia rose by 13.3% in annual terms in May after rising by 10.4% in April, data show Rosstat.
Real wages — the average accrued wages, adjusted for inflation. In May last year, real wages fell by 6.1% against the backdrop of a jump in inflation.
In May of this year, compared with the previous month, real wages in Russia increased by 2.1%. In January-May they grew by 6% in real terms.
«The average monthly accrued salary of employees of organizations in May 2023 amounted to 72,851 rubles and increased by 16.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year,» the report says. In nominal terms, wages in Russia rose by 2.4% in May compared to April; according to the results of January-May, an increase of 12.4% year-on-year was recorded.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development, wages in real terms will grow by 5.4% in 2023.
