SOCHI, August 4, Andrey Senchenko. Head coach of the Omsk club Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Avangard Mikhail Kravets announced his desire to keep forward Vladimir Tkachev in the team.
Tkachev played 78 games last season in Omsk Avangard, of which he is a trainee, and scored 73 points (26 goals and 47 assists). Upon graduation, the 27-year-old forward became a free agent. He also has two games for the Omsk club in the 2013/14 season. In addition to Avangard, he played in the KHL for SKA St. Petersburg, Admiral Vladivostok and Salavat Yulaev Ufa. He is the owner of the prize for the best rookie of the KHL and the silver medalist of the Russian championship as part of the army team.
““I personally didn’t see Vladimir today. It’s a surprise for me that he was in the stands at the match in Sochi. Whether he will continue his career at Avangard is a question for the management. Until today, I talked with him several times, now it’s up to «I'm for Volodya to stay at Avangard,» Kravets told reporters. >»Before the game, we talked with the guys about what this match will give us. The tasks are to increase the functionality, in which we, I think, have succeeded today, to improve discipline. Discipline was not enough. We are satisfied with the game and attitude to work. We will use in the next game those who did not participate in the match today. In Sochi, we plan to try everyone. There is still enough time before the start of the KHL season,» Kravets added.
The new KHL season starts on September 1.
