MOSCOW, Aug 5 Interim World Boxing Champion organization (WBO) in the first middleweight Australian Tim Tszyu said he wants to fight against the undisputed world champion American Terence Crawford.
Earlier, the WBO announced that Tszyu will be recognized as a full-fledged world champion. Crawford defeated compatriot Errol Spence in July to become the undisputed welterweight world champion. If Spence does not demand a rematch, then Crawford can move up to the category above, where Tszyu performs.
«Ask him if he's ready (to fight), that's the question. Being mentioned as the next opponent for the best boxer in the world shows the level I'm at,» Tszyu was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene, citing Fox Sports Australia.
It is noted that Tszyu is also ready to fight against Spence.
«I would like to fight Errol Spence. I really want this fight. But they won't let it happen. Too much risk for him. High risk, low reward. What will he get out of it?» — said the 28-year-old boxer.
Tim Tszyu is the son of the former undisputed light welterweight boxing world champion Konstantin Tszyu. He has 23 wins (17 by knockout) and no losses. In March, the Australian defeated American Tony Harrison and became the owner of the interim WBO world title.
