YEKATERINBURG, Aug 24 Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the Legislative Assembly of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug three candidates for election to the post of governor of the region, the list also includes the current head of the district, Dmitry Artyukhov, the press center of the Legislative Assembly of Yamal reported.
«Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted candidates to the Legislative Assembly of Yamal for election to the position of the highest official of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. These are the current governor Dmitry Artyukhov and deputies of the Yamal parliament Alexander Golubenko and Maxim Lazarev,» the report says.
It is specified that the governor of the YNAO is elected by deputies of the regional parliament by secret ballot from among three candidates presented by the president. The one for whom the majority of the established number of deputies voted is considered elected.
Elections of the governor of Yamal will be held on a single voting day, September 10th. Before that, the candidates will present to the deputies the main provisions of their program for the development of the region. The current head of the region, Artyukhov, represents United Russia, Lazarev is a candidate from the Just Russia party, and Golubenko is from the Liberal Democratic Party.
