MOSCOW, August 28 Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi, speaking about directors Rimas Tuminas and Dmitry Krymov who left the country, called it a tragedy for people associated with theater and language.
«As for those who left (directors — ed.). I do not share their political convictions, but I understand that there was a drama with Rimas (Tuminas — ed.) if we talk about the theater. I am very sorry that Dmitry Anatolyevich Krymov began to give political comments that cut off many bridges. His political statements are unacceptable for me, impossible. Theater is such a thing that living apart from one's native language is not a blessing. Very few cultural figures who left the country in the early 20 century, took place. For people who are connected with the theater and with the language, this is a tragedy,» Shvydkoy said at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya multimedia press center.
