MOSCOW, Sep 2 Companies from Russia and Malaysia have found ways to do business between the countries, for example, partially switched to settlements in Chinese yuan, dirhams and other third-party currencies countries as an alternative payment method, said Hyfil Elmi Jameel, trade adviser at the Malaysian embassy in Russia.
«Some Malaysian companies use Chinese yuan or United Arab Emirates dirhams in their trade transactions with Russia,» Jameel said.
In this regard, according to him, the yuan is used more often than dirhams in bilateral trade with Russia. The adviser cannot specify the volume of currency transactions, referring to the fact that many companies do not disclose this information.
Jamil added that he cannot comment on the use of national currencies, since this requires a large amount of research.
