WASHINGTON, Sep 2 US company SpaceX has launched 13 military satellites into space on a Falcon 9 rocket for the benefit of the Pentagon.
The satellite constellation being created in low Earth orbit as part of the Proliferated Warfighter program will detect and track missile launches, as well as provide «global military communications.»
A company owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk broadcast live the launch of the reusable Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The launch, which has been postponed twice, is the 61st since the beginning of the year for the company, which has thus already repeated the record of 2022 and has every chance of surpassing it in the remaining four months.
