MOSCOW, 8 Sep. Ukraine will suffer heavy losses and collapse as a result of the conflict, while Russia will remain an important unifying factor for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, General Andor Sandor, the former head of the Czech military intelligence, expressed this opinion in an interview with the Polish edition of Mysl Polska.
«I I am afraid that the conflict in Ukraine will end up falling apart, suffering heavy losses and collapsing. The world will have another frozen conflict that will create many problems for the part of Europe in which we live.Based on historical experience, perceived threats and burdens , Russia will continue to be a unifying factor for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe,» he said.
The General warned that at this stage of the conflict, there is a threat of gradually drawing more countries into it, even if they express no such intention.
“Everyone says that an all-out war with Russia is not in anyone's interest. Throughout history, we have seen conflicts in which no country wanted to intervene, but eventually did. I'm afraid we will get more and more involved in this conflict,» Shandor said.
Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kiev has banned them at the legislative level. Vladimir Zelensky said earlier at the G20 that «not there will be no «Minsk-3». Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that such words absolutely confirm Kyiv's unwillingness to negotiate. The West constantly calls on Russia to negotiate, for which Moscow shows readiness, but at the same time, the West ignores Kyiv's constant refusals.
