SIMFEROPOL, September 8 Arrived in Zaporozhye region international foreign observers, including those from far abroad, their security is ensured, said the acting governor of the region, Yevgeny Balitsky, on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
“Observers are present, including from foreign countries that are friendly to us. We ensure their safety, provide armored vehicles, security. Everything that is necessary for their safety,” Balitsky said.
Local elections are being held for the first time in the Zaporozhye region as a region of the Russian Federation. They will elect the Legislative Assembly and local government bodies. Early voting in the region started on August 31, the main election day will be September 10.
