The model of the Chinese brand is offered in the Russian Federation in two versions. The starting recommended retail price is 2,839,900 rubles.
In the home market, Omoda is one of the series of the “mother” brand Chery, while in some other markets, including Russia, Omoda is a separate brand. The C5 crossover, which we wrote about in more detail earlier, became its first product in the Russian Federation, sales started in the fall of 2022. The S5 sedan joined it in the spring of this year. Now the local Omoda representative office has announced that the line has been expanded with a sports version of the four-door S5 GT.

The Russian office of the Chinese brand officially announced the start of sales of the “warmed up” version of the sedan, talked about the trim levels, and also unveiled the price list. Note that the variant with the addition of GT to the name can be easily visually distinguished from the “regular” S5: the fact is that the models have a different front part.
Thus, the Omoda S5 GT received a different form of head optics with sharper corners of the running lights, a different radiator grille and a front bumper (note that the “grill” of the sports version resembles the “spindle-shaped” grille that was previously used by the Lexus brand). The car is also decorated with black decorative elements, which are supported by original 17-inch wheels of the same color, and orange brake calipers are visible behind them. The stern is almost the same, with the exception of a different design of the lower part of the rear bumper.

The interior will also make it easy to distinguish the GT version from “just” the S5. In the new modification, the virtual instrument panel and touchscreen of the infotainment system (each diagonal is 10.25 inches) are combined into one horizontally located display. Below is the touch control unit for the climate control system. The seats are trimmed with eco-leather, heated, the front ones are ventilated, and are electrically adjustable (driver's seat in six directions, passenger's seat in four). The interior also differs due to the contrasting red-orange decorative inserts.

The Omoda S5 GT is offered with one “filling” option – we are talking about a 1.6-liter turbo engine, the power of which in Russian specification is “tax-profitable” 150 hp. (for comparison, the recently declassified sports version for the Mexican market has the same engine producing 197 hp). Its maximum torque is 275 Nm, and is paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two wet clutches.

Let us remind you that the “regular” Omoda S5 sedan is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with an output of 147 hp. (210 Nm), which is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. At the same time, such a car takes 9.7 seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds”, while the new “charged” version completes this exercise in 7.5 seconds. The maximum speed is the same and is 190 km/h.

The sports version of the Omoda S5 GT is offered in the Russian Federation in two versions, recommended retail the cost of the starting version of Neo is 2,839,900 rubles. This car is equipped with ESP, light and rain sensors, a rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, four airbags (a pair of front and side), dual-zone climate control and a sunroof. Purchasing the second option – Ultra – will cost 2,939,900 rubles. The list of additional equipment includes: a set of all-round cameras, a built-in video recorder, curtain airbags, extended interior lighting and various driver assistants. Note that the current price tag of Omoda S5 varies from 2,319,900 to 2,629,900 rubles.
