BUENOS AIRES, September 9 Death toll from cyclone , which hit the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, increased to 41, another person became a victim of the disaster in the neighboring state of Santa Catarina, reports the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo.
«The total number of deaths in the state (Rio Grande do Sul) is 41. Together with one more death in Santa Catarina, the total number of victims of the tragedy in the south of the country is 42,» the statement said.
Previously, 39 deaths were reported.
46 people are listed as missing.
The cyclone was accompanied by strong gusts of wind and downpours, which led to rivers overflowing their banks and flooding.
