YEREVAN, September 9 Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan fired the head of the state security service, whose powers include ensuring the security of the country’s leaders, according to the government’s website.
““Relieve Sarkis Hovhannisyan from the post of head of the state security service,” says the prime minister’s order, the text of which is posted on the Cabinet website.
Artur Gasparyan, who held the position of deputy head of this power structure, was appointed acting head of the service
The reasons for personnel changes are not reported.
