KHABAROVSK, September 13 A case of violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules was opened after a massive outbreak of intestinal infection in an elementary school in the Khabarovsk Territory, reports SUSC for the region.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor of the region reported that an outbreak of acute intestinal infection was recorded in an elementary school in the village of Elban in the Amur region, the catering unit was closed, and eight children were hospitalized. In addition, norovirus RNA was detected in the sick children and four school catering staff. Food service workers who were carriers of norovirus were suspended from work.

“The investigative department for the city of Amursk, based on materials from the Amur city prosecutor, opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules),” informs the SUSK for the Khabarovsk Territory and the Jewish Autonomous Region.

As the investigative department clarifies, when providing catering services for children in MBOU NOSH No. 1 from September 7 to 8, the requirements for food quality were not met. As a result, this led to acute poisoning of at least 21 children.
