Izidor “was sad” until Zenit bought him from Lokomotiv

ST. PETERSBURG, September 13, Dmitry Edigarev. Zenit newcomer footballer Wilson Isidore said that he would have stayed in Lokomotiv Moscow if not for the offer from the St. Petersburg club.
Izidor's transfer to Zenit was officially announced on Saturday. The 23-year-old French forward moved to the St. Petersburg club from Lokomotiv on loan with an obligation to subsequently buy the transfer. Earlier in September, Lokomotiv reported that Izidor, without the consent of the club management, went to France, where he independently underwent a medical examination in one of the teams.
“”This summer there were offers from various European clubs. There were offers from clubs from France, with which negotiations did not end in anything. At some point I was sad, but then the offer from Zenit arose, and I perked up, because that it was very nice to receive it. If Zenit had not appeared, I would have stayed at Lokomotiv. My contract was valid for several more years,” Izidor told reporters.
Previously, Izidor and his agent told the media that the footballer wanted to leave Russia, but Lokomotiv refused to allow him to move to the French Metz. In addition, in an interview with the media, the striker said that in Russia he would only play for Lokomotiv, and he was not interested in transfers to CSKA, Spartak or Zenit. Izidor moved to Lokomotiv from Monaco in January 2022 for 3.5 million euros. As part of the Moscow club, the striker played 42 matches, in which he scored 19 goals and gave seven assists.
