Before the start of the hearing in the Babushkinsky District Court of Moscow, a volunteer at the memorial at the site of the murder of Boris Nemtsov, Evgeny Mishchenko, said that he was beaten during his arrest. This was reported by a Mediazona correspondent from the courtroom.

“The situation is bad now. Broken ribs and chest,” said the detainee. “During the arrest and during the investigative actions, they were allowed… I think this can happen as usual, everyone knows.”

When judge Evgenia Babinova opened the hearing, lawyer Nikolai Fomin asked to call an ambulance for his client. After the arrest, the activist was taken to the emergency room, where he was diagnosed with fractures of three ribs. “He is in such a state that he cannot adequately perceive,” the defender said.
