Eleven servicemen from Pskov tried to obtain the status of “North Military District veterans” for a bribe in the form of a picnic set to their boss. This is reported by the Pskov Province.
According to the publication, the military names are Igor Sapogov, Dmitry Apyshev, Alexander Ivanov, Valery Bakhvalov, Andrey Vasiliev, Alexey Lepilin, Alexey Smolyarenko, Oleg Kuzin, Ivan Kazachkov, Vladislav Borovkov and Alexander Chubatin. They chipped in 1,500 rubles each, bought a picnic set for six people and gave it to the wife of Vladimir Kapuza, who was preparing draft orders on the participation of military personnel in the war in Ukraine.
As Pskov Province writes, a criminal case was opened on the basis of Lepilin’s confession. According to information from the Pskov Garrison Military Court, all 12 military personnel became involved in cases of petty bribery (Part 1 of Article 291.2 of the Criminal Code).
Criminal cases of ten of them were discontinued. The published decisions of Lepilin and Bakhvalov say that they repented and cooperated with the investigation. Cousin was fined 20 thousand rubles, despite the fact that he also admitted guilt, and the punishment imposed on Kapuza is unknown. The court's website states that the latter will appeal the verdict.
