The line of rechargeable hybrid models of the American brand, owned by the auto giant Stellantis, has been reduced from three to two options.
This year the automotive world is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the existence of minivans: it is generally accepted that the first mass-produced minivan and the founder of the segment was the Plymouth Voyager. The American company Chrysler (now owned by Stellantis) launched production of this model at the Windsor plant in Ontario (Canada) in November 1983 (the twin Dodge Caravan was also produced here). It is worth noting that back in 1981, mass production of the Nissan Prairie started: this earlier model, in fact, can also be safely classified as a minivan.

Now the brand’s current minivan, the Chrysler Pacifica, is celebrating the segment’s anniversary with very modest updates: the manufacturer has almost imperceptibly updated the car for the 2024 model year. The refreshed version of the Pacifica added a pair of exterior colors Red Hot (red) and Baltic Gray (gray), as well as a new color option for the interior trim – Sepia (although it is only available for the top-end Pinnacle version).

The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica also features EVAS (Emergency Vehicle Alert System), which is part of the Uconnect 5 platform. This minivan also features Stow 'n Go storage, Uconnect Theater functionality, and sliding doors that can be opened. hands-free.
As part of the model update, the line of rechargeable hybrids was again reduced. Let us remind you that in the 2022 model year their list was reduced to three versions, and now, in 2024, this figure will decrease to only two – Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid Select and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid Pinnacle. Note that the current version also has a top version, but the Select version is new (replacing the current Touring L and Limited).

Touch the “filling” itself: the hybrid installation is the same for both versions, based on a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine working in tandem with an electric motor . The total system power is 260 hp. A non-alternative CVT is offered as a pair. Front-wheel drive only.

Note that non-hybrid versions of the Chrysler Pacifica are equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, recoil which makes 287 hp. It is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Drive – front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Hybrid and regular versions of the Pacifica of the next model year will reach dealers on the domestic market in October 2023. Prices for the “new products” will be announced closer to the start of sales. The current minivan in the States can be purchased for $38,020 – $57,775, and the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid will cost $51,095 – $60,990.
Recall that the Chrysler brand is preparing to switch to electric vehicles. It is expected that one of the new products will be a serial crossover based on the Airflow concept. It will probably be based on the STLA Large modular platform. According to rumors, the debut of the SUV is scheduled for 2025.
