Chery has announced a new Fengyun series, created for electrified models. By the way, this name is well known to the Chinese: previously this name was borne by a sedan (aka A11, Fulwin and Windcloud), which, in fact, was a copy of the first Seat Toledo and lasted on the assembly line from 1999 to 2006. Moreover, the well-known Chery Amulet (A15) in Russia is the heir of that same Chery Fengyun. Well, the first-born of the line with a revived name will be a sedan, which Cherie herself has so far announced under the symbol A9.

At the moment, the manufacturer has distributed the only official image of the upcoming four-door, and it is not yet known for sure whether this is already a production version or just a prototype, albeit close to production. Be that as it may, the appearance of the Chery Fengyun A9 will clearly be based on the Chery Arrizo Star concept, which debuted in April this year at the Shanghai Auto Show.
So, the “nine” will get a similar “scoreboard” with many diode elements, the headlights will also be similar, although on the A9 they will be larger, plus they will have LED “triangles”. Other exterior design features include retractable door handles and large wheels. Well, there is also a new emblem on the hood, and it is stylized as the current logo of the Chery brand.

According to preliminary information, Chery Fengyun A9 will be a rechargeable hybrid with a C-DM (Chery Dual Mode) installation ), which will include a gasoline turbo engine and a three-speed DHT gearbox. More details will appear later, and the Fengyun A9 should go on sale before the end of this year: obviously, it will be more expensive than the current flagship passenger car of the brand – the Chery Arrizo 8 sedan. It is possible that later the new four-door will reach Russia, although it is not a fact that under the brand of the parent company.
