MOSCOW, September 18 China becomes the main investor in Latin America instead USA and European countries, said Paraguayan Finance Minister Carlos Fernandez.
“The United States could play a more important role in economic investment throughout the region, not just in Paraguay. Otherwise, someone else will take that place. If you look at the situation in the region, China now takes the place of the United States and Europe,” said the Minister of Finance of Paraguay in an interview with Bloomberg.
According to Fernandez, Paraguay currently imports more from China than from other countries, with the exception of Brazil.
Paraguay's Minister of Economy noted that the country is open to developing economic relations with China, despite the fact that Paraguay supports Taiwan.
