There is a shortage of the drug Micardis in Russian pharmacies, which is prescribed forhypertension, an employee of one of the pharmacological companies told Vedomosti.
The medicine is produced by the German Boehringer Ingelheim, its Russian subsidiary notified Roszdravnadzor in July 2022 to stop importing the drugs Mikardis and Mikardis-plus into the country, the federal service told Vedomosti. At the same time, the company did not officially announce its departure from Russia.
As Vedomosti notes, the German Micardis is a medicine of the latest generation and, unlike its analogues, causes almost no side effects. Now the drug is not available in any of the pharmacies in Moscow and the Moscow region, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Saratov. In total, there are about 23 thousand packages of the drug left in the country, the publication’s interlocutor explained.
Roszdravnadzor told TASS that Boehringer Ingelheim’s decision to stop supplying hypertension drugs to Russia “does not affect the availability of drugs with the active ingredient telmisartan in the country.”
