SIMFEROPOL, September 23 Vladimir Saldo reported in the telegram channel , that he was elected governor of the region by deputies of the Kherson Regional Duma and took office.
“Today he was elected by the deputies of the Kherson Regional Duma as the governor of the Kherson region, took the oath of allegiance to the constitution of the Russian Federation and the people of the Kherson region and took office,” wrote Saldo.
Saldo thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his trust and representation his candidacy, and deputies — for her support. The election ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko.
«Now all branches of government will concentrate their efforts on implementing the presidential «Program for the socio-economic development of the Kherson region until 2030». This is our main plan for the revival of the region and improving the standard of living of our people,” emphasized Saldo.
The Kherson region became a subject of the Russian Federation following the results of a referendum held in September 2022. At the same time, the Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the territory of the region. Today, 75% of the territory of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and the part on the right bank of the Dnieper, including Kherson, remains under Ukraine.
